Like no lie, by far this is the best relationship I have ever been in. I never realized just how good He was. Like everything that I have always wanted and then some is right here in Him.
I never thought I would be saying this about God. I mean, I have a relationship with Him but I have always looked at in such a narrow or small view. Yes He is my God, yes He saved me from sins, yes he wakes me daily, yes He watches over me and my family, but this level that we just came to is something different. As a young woman I know we all want to have that perfect relationship, we want to be loved, cared for, protected and all dat lol. We listen to relationship songs, love songs and sometimes think about that perfect one, where ever he is. But did you know that all that we are looking for is found in Jesus? Like seriously!
It just dawned on me the other day that I have been putting Jesus’ love for me in a box with limits. His loves fills the voids of a mother, father, friend, auntie, cousin, dog etc., but also a man/husband. I was reading this book the other day and it named off the characteristics of the perfect husband: a great provider, takes care of the kids, great listener, affectionate, faithful etc. And then it asked “Would you trust this man as your husband?” But the more accurate question to ask is who wouldn’t trust this man as their husband? And its like my heart just opened even more and I realized ” Wow God, all those things I yearn for in a relationship with a man, I already have with you. Here is 6 reasons why He is the one
1. He’s Pays my Bills!
When I think over my entire 25 years of life, there has never been a day where I did not have what I needed. He has never let me down. I can even remember being in a shelter as a child with my mom but yet we had what we needed to survive another day. When I didn’t have a job for 8 months after graduating God still made sure I had help (even when I felt too prideful to ask for help). Wow God, you really are a great provider.
“Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote,God is there, ready to help;I’m fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me? “Hebrews 13:5-6
2. He is the Best Listener
OK ladies, lets get real, we got issues! lol And we are always looking for someone to hear them. But have you ever had a time where nobody answered the phone? When you are pouring your heart out to someone and then magically the convo turns into a discussion about them? When you are alone and you feel like no one else can possible understand what you are going through? He does! 24/7 His ears are open to me just waiting to hear how my day is going, how I really feel, am I angry, happy or sad? He has never turned me away or judged me and made me feel less of a human for what I was going through. Ahhh, I just love Him for that.
“We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.” Hebrews 4:14-16
3. He is soooooo Affectionate
Even though we don’t physically touch, He is always wanting to be near me. When I wake up He is there saying “Speak to me this morning my love”. All throughout the day I feel this tug on my heart to draw closer to him all because he wants to draw closer to me. He wants to comfort me, speak sweet and peaceful things to me and tell me how much He loves me. To be honest, I have never met a dude more affectionate them him, NEVER! It brings me to tears when I think about all the times I ignored him and had Him waiting on me, yet He is still there and has never left.
“ Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8
4. He is Faithful to ya girl!!!
He is so committed to me. He showed me that commitment to me when He died on the cross just so that I can spend everlasting life with Him, forever and ever and ever, Wow! He truly makes me feel like I am His only one. I have cheated on Him so many times and He is still here and has even told me that He aint going no where!!! He is my ride or die (literally) and I am His.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
5. My Protector
This is a scary world and evil is all around me. Yet, He has kept me. Every time I get in and out me car at night He watches over me. I remember in 10th grade I was almost kidnapped, I will never forget it. But God made sure I made it to school safely that day.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16
6. He is such a Gentlemen
I didn’t realize this until this past year. He told me that He had these specific plans for me in my life and He is showing me now because He has begun to open these doors for me that’s only for me to walk through, no one else. He really makes me feel special. Even when i’m scared to walk through, He is constantly reassuring me that Its ok, “I will be with you every step. I got you!” I am His and He is mine
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Wow, even as I type this I am feeling emotions about God that I have never felt before. He truly is the perfect Husband. And guess what? Just as much as He is there for me, He is just as available for you. Let Him in and get into this committed relationship with him. Dont cheat on Him, grow to love him.Trust me, He is patient when we mess up. I must be honest an tell you that this relationship is not always roses in the sky. You may get angry , challenges to overcome, and your mind and emotions is going to try and fight you and stop you from trying to get close to God, but He is everything you will ever need.
There is no human walking, no boyfriend that can heal our hurt or fill our voids like Jesus can. When we try to fill it up with boys, we end up hurt and more empty than before. Make sure your foundation with Jesus is solid and when you are ready, He will send you a man that He made specifically for you, one that is going to treat you Just like He does. But Remember that when that guy comes, Jesus is still #1 all the days of your life, the ULTIMATE husband. That’s Bae!
