Social Media & How It Has Changed You!
Social Media, a wonderful invention, a way to connect with so many people across the world, a way to get a message out to the masses. Social media can do so many things, I mean, it can LITERALLY change your entire life.
and here is how:

See, social media can have such an awesome impact but it can also have a horrific one. When you log into your social media account, how many pictures do you see of other girls and began to compare yourself? You don’t? Of course you do. You look at yourself in the mirror and you stare at your face and body, posing in different positions, pondering on what you would look like if this body part was different or that body part was bigger.
What if social media was the reason why your self-esteem or your opinion about your self is so low? Why do you post the pics you post? Why do you wear the clothes you wear? Is it to get attention from boys? You want them to like you right? How about to make other girls jealous or to make self feel like you are one of the “bad body” chicks.
We compare ourselves to images that are most likely FAKE or PHOTOSHOPPED and to people that we will NEVER meet a day in our lives. But we want to look just like them, so much that we will put ourselves in harms way just to get a good pic for the gram!

Who created the standard of beauty or whats acceptable? If you stand next to a girl with a bigger butt than yours than you feel smaller and less of a young woman. If you stand next to a girl with a smaller butt than yours than you feel good, thinking you have met the standards of what it means to be a woman. You see how that works out?
Both scenarios are sadly lost and don’t know their true identity. Your identity is not in a body part, hair, make up, clothes, shoes, a boy, money, cars, and what ever else material thing your pretty little mind can think of. It is in Christ alone, God, the one who created you in the first place. He created the standard and let me tell you, He takes pride in his work & you should too!
Love yourself just as you are and NEVER change self, post a pic or perform actions so that another person can like you. If you do, you will never be content with life, always trying to fit a standard of beauty when all you have to do is be the standard that has already been created, yourself!
When you embrace how God created you, others will naturally be attracted to you because you are confident, something that most people are not and only wish to be!
Confidence = the state of feeling certain about the truth of something.
Are you confident in who you are? How you are?
Is social media adding unnecessary stress to your life and making you feel left out or down and out about your own life? Maybe its time to take a break, limit your time on it or skip it all together. Now that’s a mature move, one who wants to focus more on her own identity than others. Take it from me, its easy to fall into these comparison games. Make smart decisions now, you will thank yourself later.
Prov 31:30 “Charm and grace are deceptive, and [superficial] beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the Lord [reverently worshiping, obeying, serving, and trusting Him with awe-filled respect], she shall be praised.”
